Tour of Homes 2022
Know Before You Go
-
We will meet at the Lewis Main Chapel to get our starting brief and tour map. This is a well-located venue with lots of parking nearby.
-
We have eight homes on the tour this year in the Greenwood and Broadmoor neighborhoods, with six unique floor plans! These include cottage, ranch, quad, single family, GO, and CG homes
-
There is time in the evening to do a complete walking tour of all the homes if participants limit themselves to about ten minutes inside each home. The houses are more spread out this year so some people may want to do some driving and carpooling.
-
Guests will be divided into groups of about twelve and each group will be asked to start at a specific home on the tour. This way we can all start the tour at the same time, and no one host will be inundated with a huge crowd. Guests are asked to proceed along the route in order of house number (as identified on the map). For example, if you are asked to start at house number 5, please complete the route by visiting homes 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, and 4.
-
We are not providing guides this year, because some people may want to use their cars. We can not make you go in order. We ask you to respect the hosts by following the designated route, thereby keeping the number of guests in each home manageable.
-
As a fun incentive to encourage guests to visit all eight homes in the correct order, we’re organizing a photo scavenger hunt. Based on ticket sales, we’re planning on having multiple cash prizes of $50 each! This will be an individual (not a team) contest.
-
When you arrive at the chapel, you will be given a brochure with a tour map. There will be several, slightly different batches of brochures. Each batch will have a clearly marked starting home. If you want to travel with friends, please arrive at the Lewis Main Chapel together and ask to receive brochures from the same batch. We will do our best to accommodate.
-
You certainly do not have to visit all the homes. We do ask that you visit the homes in order, even if you can only do a few of them.
-
The event will go on as planned. Please dress accordingly. You may be asked to wear protective booties (provided) inside the homes or remove your footwear.
-
We aim to have a festive treat at every home for guests. Over the course of the tour, guests will be offered several sweet and savory appetizers as well as a few sample-sized beverages.
-
There are a few parking lots around the Lewis Main Chapel and many parking spaces on Liggett Ave to start the evening. If you choose to drive and park during the tour itself, street parking is the best bet. In Broadmoor, Clark Rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and Columbia streets are good options. In Greenwood, Crary St and Landcaster Pl will work well.
